The purpose of the accreditation process is to create a set of standards that:

• give assurances that accredited facilities are able to provide the highest quality of care for patients and referring professionals
• acscertain that the physical environment and working conditions meet acceptable standards of safety for staff and for the public and;
• create a national standard level for pedorthists to follow when designing, purchasing or modifying a pedorthic facility
